Meet Chance
From Hardship to Hope, a Journey of Second Chances
Chance's name is surely apropos. He came to us in November of 2023 with a lot of trust issues. At only 6-years-old, it was clear that he didn't trust humans; after a brief life of working on an Amish farm, he was brought to the slaughterhouse- until we saved him. Now he is the most stunning gelding in town!
Meet Wilbur
Our Gentle Giant
Wilbur is part of our draft horse trio. He is a Percheron, in his late teens and is an ex-Amish workhorse. After working his whole life and being starved, he ended p in the slaughter pipeline. We found him just in time to save him, and give him his second chance at a happy life. Today this handsome man has gained weight and stands at his full glory.
Meet Timmy
Expert at Staying Dirty
Timmy is like the white shirt you can never keep clean. Grey by nature, but boy does Timmy love to roll around in the mud. He has been with us since the summer of 2003. He was an owner surrender. Timmy is only 15-years-old, but he already has arthritis and requires supplements. Timmy is living his best life along side his favorite pals, Cruiser and Rooster.
Meet The Cows
The Cutest 4 Girls You'll Ever Meet
Star, Moon, Lucky & Charm are our dairy farm survivors. Cows that have low milk production or difficulty reproducing are most often culled for economic purposes on dairy farms. We helped these girls through our re-homing efforts and today they are the most snuggly and affectionate bunch that will surely steal your heart.
Meet Rooster
Slaughter Line Survivor
Carefree and goofy now, Rooster is our easy going youngster. Slaughter line survivor, Rooster was only a yearling when he came to us, and was going to be discarded due to so called behavioral issues, but he really just needed to be free to be himself! Rooster is now living his best life, running wild and free, and is well known for being Cruiser's side-kick.
Meet the Alpacas
Mini Giraffes
Stella, Luna, & Greta are shy, skeptical, and curious, but these adorable 3 are warming up to humans very quickly. A handful of treats and they'll come running. Their owners were hobbyists, who did not fully understanding just how much time, attention, and resources they require. We are happy to provide everything they need here at the farm.
Meet Momoona
Shy but Loving
At a towering 17 hands, Momoona is our giant teddy bear. She is very shy, but she won't hesitate to show some love if you have a treat! Momoona came to us because she wasn't an adequate trail rider or lesson horse, and her owners needed her to produce an income. Here on the farm, she doesn't need to be a working girl!
Meet Seamus
Spirit Look-Alike
Seamus has markings almost identical to "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron." Much like Spirit, Seamus is very resilient, and though he didn't have the easiest past, rescued from a life of neglect and abuse, he has bonded with the humans and horses on the farm, making best friends with Apache. Today he runs free like the wild stallion he is named after.
Meet Hilda and Louie
The Flock
Ducks, Chickens, Geese, & Quail! Hilda and Louie rule the roost. They love to lounge around in their own personal pool and enjoy each other's company. Oftentimes, people have to find new homes for their birds when some in the flock don't get along. Not all birds of a feather flock together!
Meet Apache
The Model
This handsome man joined P'nut's Freedom Farm after an injury to his back leg that prevented him from being ridden. In his new life here, that is not a concern! Though he is a little shy, Apache warms up really quickly with a scratch behind the ears, and he really enjoys the attention.
Meet Gloria
Strength in Grace, Vision Beyond Sight
Gloria is part of the draft trio- a Percheron in her early 20's- who suffers from equine recurrent uveitis (ERU) in one eye. This condition is also known as Moon Blindness. It's an inflammatory condition of the uvea, and is usually caused by infection or trauma. Despite her condition, she is strong, graceful, and a true beauty.
Meet Thisbe
A Beauty Unstoppable by Tragedy
Thisbe is a 19-year-old Trakehner- a
horse breed known for its versatility, athleticism, and elegance. Thisbe was used in show jumping due to her excellent movement, intelligence, and willing temperament, but after an injury left her unable to perform, she came to live with us, and now lives out her well deserved years on our sanctuary.
